Jesus, my Savior, Your Word says that You chose us before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in Your sight. Jesus, Josh Scott is living contrary to Your Word. He has chosen to walk in the way of sinners. Jesus, help him to see the error and danger of being lukewarm. May he come to the end of himself by knowing the truth that is found in Your Word. Save his soul from the lies he embraces and cherishes of Lucifer and his minions. Show him that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, that You were much more than just a man; You are the Divine Son of Almighty God. Jesus, I pray to You to convict his heart and reveal to him how he is living in sin and turning people away from the gift of Your Salvation. Prepare the hearts of those who don’t know You to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Send the right people to preach the gospel to them so that they can know how much You love them and the great sacrifice You made at the cross so that they may receive the gift of eternal life, thus escaping damnation. Lord, we thank You, and we honor You. Father, my Miracle-Worker, sinners cannot come to You unless You open their hearts and unless they allow themselves to be convicted. Lord, as evangelists all over the world prepare to go and preach the gospel of Jesus, may You open up the hearts of those who are lost that they may be able to hear the Word and accepted it as the Truth. Uproot every lie that has been planted in the hearts of those deceived in believing there is nothing beyond this world. Open their understanding that they may be able to see the truth that is found in Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.
I have always struggled with prayer. The work of Thomas Jay Oord helped me out of the interventionist view of prayer I was given in Evangelicalism. But now I still struggle with how to think about it or practice it from a new understanding. Maybe the thoughts you have given here can help me move forward some.
