This was one of the best conversations! Just what I needed today. I went from laughing to contemplating to crying and back again. Thank you soooo much!

Josh, your comment about the Father's voice as Jesus came up out of baptism got me thinking. I have preached it the way you presented it. Jesus was loved and valued by his Father, before. Before he faced the devil in the desert. Before he fed anyone. Before he healed the blind. Before he raised the dead. As he came up still wet behind the ears, Jesus was loved simply because of who he was to his Father. God loves us, before, too.

But, as I listened to you, I had a new thought. The Father was also revealing who he is. In that moment, to his son. In every moment, to each of us. God is pleased with us. God is love. When he looks at you, God's nature is revealed. Because of who he is.

Your reason for choosing to be 40 rather than 20 drove the point home. As we age, experience teaches us who God really is. Not because God changes but because we have learned to see Him more clearly.

Thanks for your inspiring conversation today!
